Info Session on the International Resource Panel - 2 March 2018, DG RTD – CDMA - Atrium (-1)

[Source: Research & Innovation] The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), now known as UN Environment, launched the International Resource Panel (IRP) in 2007 with the mandate to build and share a sound knowledge base on sustainable global resource use. The Panel’s goal is to steer the transition from overconsumption, waste and environmental degradation to a more prosperous and sustainable future. This Info Session will illustrate the work of the IRP in the context of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on sustainable economic growth and innovation. The session will be an opportunity to explore how the scientific knowledge of the IRP could feed into the work of DG RTD and more generally support EU policy-making.
