Events - Exploring Digital Social Participation for urban governance in Ghent - 29 May 2019, Ghent, Belgium

[Source: Research & Innovation] You are invited to the UGent Urban Academy session “Exploring Digital Social Participation for urban governance in Ghent”, 29th May 2019, 2 pm- 4 pm, UGent City Academy / Green Hub, Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat 31 (plinth UFO building, next to Arts Center Vooruit). The session is the final event of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie project “Crowdsourcing Urban Sustainability Governance” and will be introduced by a brief presentation on the project aims, activities and results. The focus of the session is to discuss with you collectively or in two small groups, together with the positive outcomes, also the pitfalls and threats of digital participation in the planning and managing of the city. To this end we will introduce the projects results in the form of provisional conclusions and seek for your help to further explore both the bright and the dark side of digital social participation. We also want to collect and formulate new research questions on digital participation that Master students can discuss within the Urban Academy. EU Sustainable Energy Week side event: Smart Regions - Smart Solutions - 19 June 2019, Brussels, Belgium

[Source: Research & Innovation] Together with its working groups, ERRIN will host a side event during European Sustainable Energy Week considering how the next European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, Horizon Europe, can deliver on support the decarbonisation of our energy and transport systems. Mobilising the power of Europe’s research and innovation ecosystems at a regional level will be critical in terms of meeting the ambitions of the European Commission’s Clean Planet for All strategy. Using concrete examples, this session will demonstrate the role of regions in helping the EU reach its decarbonisation goals, by fostering engagement, empowering all actors to work together, and highlighting the crucial role of place-based innovation ecosystems. The event will provide inputs to the Horizon Europe Strategic planning process, including proposing priority areas for the thematic cluster in climate, energy and mobility, whilst also offering up some inspiration for the mission on climate neutral and smart cities. ECSEL Symposium 2019 - Boosting a sustainable digital sovereignty for the EU - 17-18 June 2019, Bucharest, Romania

3rd HBP Curriculum Workshop Series – New Horizons in Brain Medicine: From Research to Clinics - 3-5 July 2019, Innsbruck, Austria
