Wikipedia picture of the day on September 11, 2015: Elliðaey is one of the Westman Islands, and the third largest island in Iceland having an area of 0,45 km2. It is believed to have formed in an eruption about 5-6 thousand years ago. The small building visible in the image is a hunting lodge, built in 1953. The uninhabited island is privately owned and operated by the Elliðaey Hunting Association and is accessible via a rope on its lower east side and by a boat from the mainland. http://ift.tt/1Q4SxI0
