Europe 2050: Preparing a Research & Innovation Roadmap for Raw Materials - 13 June 2017, Brussels, Belgium
[Source: Research & Innovation] The partners of the Horizon 2020 funded project Vision and Roadmap for European Raw Materials – VERAM cordially invite you to participate in the VERAM Experts’ Workshop, which will take place on 13 June 2017, in Brussels. The event will be hosted ahead of the next Research and Innovation Framework Programme (FP9) of the European Commission (EC), and the new mandate of the European Innovation Partnership on Raw Materials (EIP RM) undertaken by the Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW). A long-term 2050 vision and roadmap is crucial to achieving European economic growth and restructuring. Therefore, a more coordinated approach towards raw materials management will help reduce external supply dependency and lead to an efficient use of resources, improve the competitiveness of EU industry, and its environmental impact and eco-efficiency. VERAM values your views, opinions and ideas as crucial to setting a comprehensive and solid Research and Innovation Roadmap for European Raw Materials in 2050.

ISM – MYCOKEY Workshop – Training Course 2017 Strategies for minimization of mycotoxins and toxigenic fungi in food chains - 16-19 October 2017, Bari, Italy
[Source: Research & Innovation] The Institute of Sciences of Food Production – National Research Councilof Italy (ISPA-CNR), under the aegis of the MycoKey project (http://www.mycokey.eu/) and the International Society for Mycotoxicology (ISM), is hosting a 4 days Workshop-Training Course from 16 to 19 October, 2017. The course aims at training smart, integrated, sustainable solutions and innovative tools to manage and reduce the major mycotoxins (aflatoxins, fumonisins, trichothecenes and ochratoxin A) in economically important food and feed chains (maize, wheat, barley, dried fruits and grape) in pre and post-harvest. Advanced technologies in the field of chemical detection, molecular analysis, modelling and ICT solutions will be covered by highly qualified international instructors, throughout lectures and laboratory experiences. About half of the duration of the workshop will be ”hands on” and spent in the laboratory.

90% Indoors ! Solutions for healthy and energy efficient buildings - 29 June 2017, Brussels
[Source: Research & Innovation] We spend up to 90% of our lives indoors. Yet the air quality inside buildings has been shown to be 2 to 5 times poorer than outdoors. This can also true for modern energy efficient buildings due to increased insulation levels and greater air tightness. The event will be an opportunity for policy makers, industries, building designers and academia to learn how innovative eco-materials can help address both indoor air quality and energy efficiency in buildings, and discuss how best to bring those innovations to the market. Participation is free of charge, however registration is required (please use the registration button on the right hand side). As places are limited, please make sure to register for the event no later than 31 May 2017.
