'CERCA Conference 2017: Fostering excellence in research for the benefit of society' - 31 May 2017, Brussels, Belgium

[Source: Research & Innovation] CERCA CONFERENCE 2017 aims to give an insight into the successful achievements of Catalan research centers and to promote an open dialogue on the challenges that innovation policies face in the near future at EU level. The Minister for Business and Knowledge of the Catalan Government, Jordi Baiget, and the representative to the EU, Amadeu Altafaj, will be in charge of the welcome panel, together with the Director of CERCA, Lluis Rovira. The keynote speech will be given by the Director of Directorate B “Open Innovation and Open Science” of the Directorate General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission, Jean-David Malo. Other relevant speakers include Jana Kolar, CEO of CERIC-ERIC and governing board member of the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT) and Theo Papazoglou, Head of the Support to the Scientific Council of the European Research Council (ERC). The event is organized by CERCA Institute, an entity that gathers 41 top performing research centers in all scientific disciplines.
