[Source: Research & Innovation] The European Commission is organising a Seminar on the "Future of European Steel - Innovation and Sustainability in a competitive world and EU circular economy". The seminar will take place in Brussels at DG Research & Innovation, Covent Garden Building, 16 Place Rogier. With the insights from steel stakeholders and EU policy-makers, three main sessions will deal with : - Research & Innovation results • Energy savings and environmental aspects of steel production; • Innovation steel - construction and automotive applications - European Steel in 2051 • European steel in global competition; • Steel as a key component of the circular economy - The way forward • EU steel "Big ticket" initiative - Ultra low carbon future European steelmaking; • Panel discussion with representatives from DG CLIMA, DG TRADE, DG ENER and DG GROW Due to the limited size of the meeting room and for security reasons, the seminar will be on invitation only.
